YOU WERE NEVER TOO MUCH
but your body had to learn to survive in a world that said you were
you’ve outgrown the world that taught you to silence yourself and hold back your tears - now you're ready to embody something more honest, more alive, and more whole
SOUND FAMILIAR?
You’re always showing up for others—but struggle to ask for what you need
You long to move more slowly and intentionally—but your nervous system doesn’t let you.
You're easily overwhelmed by hard conversations and default to people pleasing or avoiding
You find yourself being reactive or defensive even when you don’t want to be
Nothing you do in your creative work or activism ever feels like enough
You know why you have certain patterns but you don't know how to change them
Perfectionism and self-criticism keep you stuck in a loop of procrastination and shame
You tend to get in your head and intellectualize issues rather than sitting with your feelings
all of these struggles are a reflection of
unhealed wounds &
old nervous system patterns
that are no longer serving you
Somatic Coaching is a gentle and powerful way to transform these old patterns

"Working with Lux has been incredibly rewarding.
Lux is warm, welcoming, accepting, and so knowledgeable. I feel like I can fully show up as my messy self, and I leave feeling grounded and lighter. I now feel more capable to feel and pause / intervene before the reactive part of me engages.
I feel so much more in tune with myself.”

WHY SOMATIC COACHING WORKS
(when talking isn't enough)
Many of our limiting patterns—people-pleasing, shutting down, over-functioning—aren’t cognitive. They’re physiological.
Traditional talk therapy often focuses on insight and analysis. This can help you understand the root cause of your patterns, but it is not enough to actually change them — and sometimes this disparity can even make you feel worse!
Somatic Coaching bridges this gap by meeting you at the level of sensation, emotion, and instinct — working with your subconscious and your nervous system to shift the deeper stories that live in your body.
Somatic Coaching doesn't just help you understand why you feel stuck - it helps you unwind the survival responses that keep you there.

“Lux helped me to feel my feelings more fully. Through their compassionate witness, I made contact with the deeper needs and emotions that were unconsciously undermining my relationship. After working with Lux, I feel a far greater sense of peace and clarity when it comes to my romantic life. I feel much more intimacy as well as autonomy in my relationship. Thank you, Lux!"

About me
Hi, I’m Lux. I’m a queer, non-binary politicized healer and cultural visionary who believes that revolution happens at the level of relationship.
I first found my passion for cultural and relational healing while living in community, which led me to study Conflict Mediation and Nonviolent Communication. After years of holding space for conflict transformation, it became clear to me that underneath our reactions and assumptions are our wounds and survival patterns, showing up because they want to be transformed.
At the same time, I started seeing my own SEP (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner) to start to untangle and uproot my own patterns of chronic stress, anxiety, and self-doubt.
Somatic Coaching was life-changing for me in growing my capacity to pause, slow down, and break my lifelong pattern of constant activity and stress. From doing my own personal work and from studying trauma, attachment, and the nervous system, I now can also support my clients in accessing the deeper work that will actually lead to the integrated healing they’re longing for.
After experiencing such profound change (which was also somehow gentle and organic) from this modality myself, it is truly a gift to now get to hold this space for others.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you with loving presence, nonjudgment, and real tools for embodied transformation.

ABOUT YOU
I love working with empaths, radical (over)thinkers, neurodivergent queer kin, activists, and generally anyone who is seeking alternatives to the ways of life that were handed down to them and is willing to get a little weird as we work through old patterns in the body
WHAT THE RESEARCH SHOWS
Somatic Experiencing is more than a trend—it’s a proven, body-based approach to healing trauma and supporting long-term resilience
NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION: Case studies describe improved emotional regulation and stress reduction
REDUCED ANXIETY: Generalized anxiety symptoms dropped from mild to subclinical ranges in professionals undergoing SE training

IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE: SE training participants showed significant increases in social quality of life over 3 years, with sustained physical well-being and interpersonal benefits
NON-OVERWHELMING PROCESS: The titration method helps clients safely explore trauma without emotional flooding
PTSD REDUCTION: A 2017 randomized trial showed lasting decreases in PTSD symptoms—participants had fewer flashbacks, avoidance behaviors, and hyperarousal

CHRONIC PAIN RELIEF: SE trainees experienced clinically meaningful reductions in pain and physical tension

“Wow. Such a nourishing and grounding experience. The container and space Lux held felt so peaceful & welcoming. Having the support of Lux’s witnessing was really beautiful as well. Noticing even the most subtle looks & posture shifts they were able to guide me deeper into some places & experiences I otherwise would have missed.”

Samuel s.
“Lux holds such lovely space. They ask meaningful questions and provide those insights that often feel like the basic truths of the world that are so easy to forget. What is perhaps most meaningful to me is how Lux invites me to be with myself, to slow down and honor and feel my authentic self.”

Maria J.

FAQ
What does a Somatic Coaching session typically look like?
I intend for our sessions together to be a sanctuary, where we embody a different culture than the one you might experience in the world everyday. In this space, the voice, needs, and instincts of your animal body matter and are valid. In this space, growth can happen in a gentle, nourishing, and loving way. In this space, you belong fully, exactly as you are. We begin our sessions with a grounding or orienting practice and sometimes we also linger in any recent celebrations or appreciations that are alive for you. From there, the space is open and there are many ways we can approach the work - either directly through the body, or through you bringing something you want to work with.
How does it work to do Somatic Coaching on Zoom?
Doing Somatic Coaching on zoom is totally do-able, and is in fact how I personally did most of the Somatic Experiencing sessions I have been receiving for years. As long as you can have your video on and join from a private space where you feel comfortable and safe, we can do everything we might do in-person except incorporate Somatic Experiencing touch. It is ideal if your video shows your body at least from the waist or torso up so I can track your body movements, gestures, and expressions throughout our session.
Do you work with couples and/or polycules?
Yes, I do use SE to work with couples and polycules, and it can be a really supportive and effective approach for working through charged relational dynamics. The form this takes is essentially doing 1:1 work in front of each other, so each of your nervous systems can receive direct support and you get to learn about and witness each other’s process without getting tangled up in the charged stories connected to it. My sliding scale rate for working with couples and polycules is $160-240 per 1-hour session, and sometimes we will extend to 90 minutes for our first session.
What is a sliding scale, and how do I determine what amount to pay?
A sliding scale is an equity-based payment structure where the participant’s financial situation informs the rate they pay for a service. The bullet points listed below are just examples to help guide your self-assessment. I trust you to factor in these considerations and choose the level that feels right for you at this moment. Choose a rate on the low end of the sliding scale if you: - Do not have a financial safety net - Have large debt or student loans - Are Black, Indigenous, or otherwise systematically disadvantaged based on your identities Choose a rate in the middle of the sliding scale if you: - Can go out to eat without thinking about your finances - Have a salaried job with benefits - Have family that would financially support you if you needed it Choose a rate on the high end of the sliding scale if you: - Own property or other significant assets - Make over $100K per year - Never feel scared of not having enough.
How many sessions will I need?
The beautiful thing about processes that actually work is you shouldn't have to receive endless sessions! However, the actual length of treatment does vary greatly, depending on your trauma history and your baseline nervous system state. Some people will see the results they are looking for in a year or less, while others might benefit from a few years of ongoing sessions to unwind deep, entrenched patterns and build nervous system resilience.
