ABOUT
HEALING RISING

MISSION
To empower individuals and communities with the knowledge, skills, and awareness needed to create transformative, healing relationships and embody the loving, liberated world we long for.

VISION

A world where people relate to each other with embodied attunement, self responsibility, genuine generosity, grounded discernment, and a whole lot of grace for the messiness of being human.
A world where we have the commitment and skills to collaborate on creating mutually supportive, life-giving systems that make our current structures based in extraction and greed irrelevant.

ABOUT LUX

FOUNDER OF HEALING RISING
Lux Gypsum (all pronouns) is a queer, non-binary politicized healer, relational educator, and cultural visionary.
In their workshops, talks, and client work, Lux focuses on conflict transformation, somatic trauma resolution, and growing our skills to create resilient, purpose-oriented communities.
For over 9 years, Lux has honed their capacity to skillfully hold potent group containers for learning and healing. In addition to facilitating community workshops and events, Lux is also a Somatic Coach, Conflict Mediator, and Community Consultant, supporting individuals, couples, and groups to embody the world they long for.
Lux is trauma-informed and committed to uprooting supremacy culture in all their work, imperfectly.
You can follow Lux's work and offerings on Instagram @healing.rising.

MY STORY

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Many teachers and teachings have supported me to develop my integrity and skill as a Somatic Practitioner, Educator, and Facilitator who specializes in conflict, connection, and culture-building.
I acknowledge and honor all the labor, struggle, and genius that has come before me in all areas of my work, and recognize the privilege I hold in having the resources and time to deeply study these social and healing arts.
I bow in humility and gratitude to all my teachers and their teachers - some whom will never even know my name, but but whose insights, wisdom, and experience support the work I do and make me who I am.

MY TRAINING
EXPERIENCE

In addition to these specialized trainings, I received my Bachelors from UC Berkeley where I studied Philosophy, and was especially influenced by the writing of Val Plumwood, Martin Heidegger, Christine Korsgaard, Joanna Macy, and Charles Eisenstein.
You can learn more about how that chapter of my life planted the seeds for the work I do now by reading my story.
Other teachers and thinkers who have also deeply inspired and influenced me are Prentis Hemphill, adrienne maree brown, Mia Schachter, Clementine Morrigan, Jay Lesoleil, Kazu Haga, Four Arrows, Darcia Narvaez, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and Tyson Yunkaporta.

MY CORE VALUES
(AND WHAT THEY
LOOK LIKE IN PRACTICE)

-
Connection
Making space to tend relational needs, communicate with care, and move at the pace of trust.
-
Consent
Relating without pressure, offering options, and listening to and honoring limits, in myself and others.
-
Creativity
Breaking out of convention to take risks, experiment, and expand the realms of possibility.
-
Compassion
Uplifting the humanity in everyone, with the knowing that harmful behaviors often stem from wounding.
-
Complexity
Making space for multiple truths and resisting the urge to flatten any experience into one simple story.
-
Collaboration
Drawing on the wisdom of the whole to extend beyond where any one of us could go alone.
I hold these values as important north stars, and I also acknowledge that I will not embody them perfectly. I am always open to feedback so I can continue to grow.
